Book Blogger Hop

Book Blogger HopBook Blogger Hop is hosted by Jen at Crazy-For-Books.

This week's question is:
“What’s the LONGEST book you’ve ever read?”
(Note: I’m putting one caveat on this question. You aren’t allowed to say the Bible, Torah, Qur’an, or other religious/spiritual text.)

Lord of the Rings - I read all three books as one so that's getting up to 1,000 pages! Although that was a while ago. Songs of Daylight, by Paullina Simons was also a challenge to get through, but the most recent 'longest' book I've read was The Fourth Estate, by Jeffrey Archer - a healthy 742 pages in length.

Depending how how I'm getting on with my goal of 111 books in 2011 if I've got enough time towards the end of the year I may try getting through War & Peace! If not, it'll be The Very Hungry Caterpillar!

  1. Great book Lord Of The Rings, happy Friday!

  2. It's interesting to see which books we're all naming this Hop --- I'm making a list of some good "wintertime reading" books now. :)

    Happy Hopping!

  3. Most people would guess I’d write myself in the role of a hero in a fictional adventure of some kind. But that would be only partially correct. As is my norm, I throw a curve ball in my answer that makes perfect sense one you follow my logic. Follow me back to my blog at and follow along the logic with me!

  4. Haven't heard of THE FOURTH ESTATE.

  5. I have a 3-in-1 LoTR book too, but I haven't read it yet. It'll probably take me a month to read at the rate I read, so I've been putting it off for years! lol Happy Friday!

  7. The vast majority of the books I read in a year are around 32 to 100 pages as they are picture books.

The longest books I've read is are classics. Please come see which ones I'm talking about.

  8. LOTR and Fourth Estate I've read but Songs of daylight I have not. I'm you newest follower. I hope you'll hop over to my blog at

  9. I've not read LOTR yet, but do mean to. Eventually! Good work getting through it too :-)

  10. I loved Lord of the Rings. According to Goodreads it's my longest which means my original answer is wrong. My copy had 1500 pages. I haven't read anything by Jeffery Archer.

  11. Thanks for hopping by my blog. I'm impressed with anyone who reads all three Lord of the Rings! And I love that you could go either with War & Peace or The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Both good choices. :)

  12. Haven't read LOTR yet, but I have seen the movies. Fantasy is not usuallymy thing. How did you like Archer? He's one of my favorites. If you liked him, you should check out As The Crow Flies - it is his best, in my opinion. Glad to have found you!
